The path to peace: russian-american common action to murder Zelensky?!

The most popular Romanian publicist presented a shocking theory on B1 News TV’s political talk show: Cristian Tudor Popescu (CTP) suggested that it is not impossible for the CIA and the Russian FSB to collaborate on an assassination attempt against President Volodymyr Zelensky in order to bring the war in Ukraine to an end.

CTP joined the show „Politica zilei” (Politics of the Day), hosted by Ioana Constantin, via phone. (This is the same show where former president Traian Băsescu regularly speaks!) The renowned publicist was asked about the shift in the U.S. attitude, Russian-American negotiations, and Ukraine’s situation. In response, he proposed a shocking, yet not entirely baseless theory.

According to CTP, the current geopolitical situation and shared interests between Russia and the U.S. suggest that the Russian Federation would retain the territories it has already occupied, NATO would not intervene, and Ukraine would not be granted membership. However, CTP claims there is one major obstacle to the U.S.-Russia agreement and Ukraine’s forced submission: Volodymyr Zelensky.

The publicist stated that there is a „high probability” that Zelensky will be assassinated by Russian intelligence with some assistance from the CIA. Following his assassination, Moscow would manipulate the elections in Ukraine, leading to the installment of a pro-Russian president who would sign all the agreements desired by both Russia and the United States.

CTP’s Chilling Theory:

„I am thinking of something much worse than the cessation of U.S. aid to Ukraine—which is highly likely to happen—namely, the establishment of peace within 24 hours, as Trump promised. According to him, there is a way to achieve peace within a single day. The so-called negotiations — such as the Riyadh talks and the Trump-Putin discussions—did not lead to any concrete agreements or even an exchange of proposals regarding peace terms. Russia’s conditions are non-negotiable:

• All occupied territories would remain under Russian control, without dispute.
• Russia wants full control over Luhansk and Donetsk, even though they have not fully occupied them yet.
• Ukraine would have no chance of joining NATO.

This is what Russia demands.”

CTP argues that Trump and his team, following their talks with Russia, have only one task left: to force Ukraine to accept these conditions. However, as long as Zelensky remains in power, this will not happen.

Thus, based on the current U.S.-Russia relationship, peace could only be achieved by first assassinating Zelensky—a mission executed by Russian operatives, with intelligence cooperation from the U.S., or even direct involvement from CIA agents.

„Trump and Putin both want Zelensky gone. There have already been numerous assassination attempts on him, and now—considering a Trump-Putin peace deal—there is a high chance that such an attempt will finally succeed. Do you know who will be blamed for the assassination? Putin and Trump will say that the Ukrainian opposition revolted.”

„Of course, they will express their regrets, but they will claim: ‘As we warned, the people have risen up against the dictator Zelensky.’ Then, they will proceed with the elections—which have been the main issue so far! And these elections will be manipulated by Russia, using the same methods as in Romania. As a result, a pro-Moscow Ukrainian president will take power, and finally, they will be able to sign the peace agreement Trump promised. Right now, this is the worst scenario I can imagine, and it is very likely to happen.”
